Selachian : One of the Selachii. See Illustration in Appendix.
Selachii : An order of elasmobranchs including the sharks and rays; the Plagiostomi. Called also Selacha, Selache, and Selachoidei.
Selachoidei : Same as Selachii.
Selachostomi : A division of ganoid fishes which includes the paddlefish, in which the mouth is armed with small teeth.
Selaginella : A genus of cryptogamous plants resembling Lycopodia, but producing two kinds of spores; also, any plant of this genus. Many species are cultivated in conservatories.
Selah : A word of doubtful meaning, occuring frequently in the Psalms; by some, supposed to signify silence or a pause in the musical performance of the song.
Selch : A seal.
Selcouth : Rarely known; unusual; strange.
Seld : Rare; uncommon; unusual. ;; Rarely; seldom.
Seldem : Rarely; not often; not frequently.
